7 Steps to complete before getting an ignition interlock installed

Sometimes an attorney will suggest the device be installed before your court date, and if that’s the case then please know that we never recommend going against your attorneys legal advice. This entire blog post is simply listing practical steps that anyone can take before getting the device installed. None of this information should be taken as legal advice.

  1. Check your current license status to first see if it’s suspended or revoked

  2. Check your eligibility for re-instatement or applying for an occupational using the DMVs portal

  3. Verify you have all the listed items completed other than getting the ignition interlock device (IID) installed

  4. If there are vehicles you don’t own anymore listed as requiring the device then get those exempted before proceeding

    • Form needing completed by a judge for vehicle exemption (Form MV3617)

  5. Get SR-22 insurance if required (you may have to call a few insurance providers)

  6. Gather all required information (Vehicle VIN, license plate number, and court case documents)

  7. Call us to get scheduled and we will get it installed as soon as possible
