What is an ignition interlock device?

An ignition interlock device is a breathalyzer installed in your vehicle. Oftentimes, it’s referred to as an IID (Ignition Interlock Device) or BAIID (Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device) for short. Its main purpose is to disable the ability to operate a vehicle until a breath sample is provided below the preset limit.

Also, depending on your device's state set parameters it periodically requests rolling retests while the vehicle is in operation. Each state has its own set requirements. Currently in the state of Wisconsin the device will request a retest 5 minutes after starting the vehicle and anywhere between 5 to 30 minutes after.

The ignition interlock device generates data from normal use. All of this data gets reported to the state or individuals monitoring agencies. Upon receiving that data each agency chooses what to do with it.

We at Integrity Interlock as a Wisconsin & Draeger approved service provider ensure all data gets reported to the proper agency for every client. Making the clients required tasks minimal in order to complete their ignition interlock mandate. This ensures transparency between all reporting agencies and a smooth ignition interlock mandate process for the client.

The Drager Interlock XT that we install in Wisconsin accomplishes all the above requirements for an ignition interlock while enabling handy features and ease of use for everyone of our clients.
